Lingerie Can Detect Health

During this underwear may only have the functionality to cover and protect the genitals. Now researchers create underwear with electronic sensors to support health.

Revolution underwear men are not only convenient but also can support the health because underwear is equipped with bio-electronic sensors are printed at the waist.

Bio-electronic sensors can measure blood pressure, heart rate and other vital signs through constant contact with the skin.

This technology was developed by experts of nano-enginering professor Joseph Wang from the University of California at San Diego, USA. Expressed that the performance of the sensor will not be disturbed by stress such as bending or stretching that occurs everyday.

Hopefully with this sensor technology could allow patients to be treated at home, thereby helping to reduce medical costs that must be removed.

In this method of bio-electronic sensors that are used containing carbon electrodes. This was revealed in the journal of The Royal Society of Chemistry.

"This project initially involves the monitoring of the injured soldiers during combat operations and aims to develop minimally invasive sensors that can identify an injury in the field," said Professor Wang, as quoted from Dailymail, Friday (11/06/2010).

Bio-sensors can detect the injury and can also directly release the drug to relieve pain and treat injuries. However, further research will be needed to apply this technology.

"Monitoring these as markers of heart attack, warned of the potential for stroke, diabetes and other changes related to biomedicine," he said.

Professor Wang added this biosensor could also provide valuable information to athletes or can to measure alcohol levels. Looking ahead, Professor Wang wanted clothes that could include sensor integrated healthcare in the future.
